What you are actually buying
ZINWA prices raw water to industry at about USD 0.014 a cubic metre and treated water to those same customers at USD 2.77 — the same water, from the same river, at 193 times the price. Almost the whole of that gap is the pump, the pipe, the plant and the reliability, and that is the asset a scheme owns.

Who owns the other end
Every scheme is hosted by a community, and that community holds a fixed class of shares in the same register as every other shareholder — not behind it. The trust is the vehicle that holds them, and one trust can carry several schemes.
The trusts
Verified, and checkable by anyone
When a scheme is verified its facts are frozen — the source and its tested yield, the static water level at commissioning, pump and panel serials, the meter, and the abstraction permit with the name of whoever holds it — then hashed into a single fingerprint. The inputs are published beside it, because a fingerprint whose inputs only we hold proves nothing.
It does not mean the water is safe to drink. That is a separate claim, and it resolves to a stored quality test on the scheme's own page.
